BACKGROUND :

The growing number of the middle-income countries raise exponential growth of population living with underlying health problems that make the world more vulnerable to Emerging Infectious Diseases (EIDs). Particularly, obesity, associated DM, cardio- and cerebro-vascular diseases, COLD, and people living with cancer and autoimmune diseases, are the most affected. Scientists are revealing hidden links of microbes with chronic medical conditions, e.g. gastric ulcer, cardio-vascular diseases and cancer.

OBJECTIVES :

The side meeting aims to bridge 2018 and 2019 PMAC themes. - Overview of EIDs and NCDs - Mapping growing NCD problems and forecasting risk of EID - Microbes as the cause of NCDs - Proposal to an initiative bridging CD and NCD
